Seeing the museum marking where he was born and then seeing where he is entombed is something else. I met a Korean vet who went to boot camp where I ended up MOBing out of, that was interesting. This is a museum everyone should visit if they are in the area.
I thought it was a good museum to check out. Very informative and something you can do in about an hour hour and a half. Great detail into the life of General MacArthur. If you're in Norfork, I recommend stopping. It is also free because General MacArthur wanted it that way.
A museum that may not be the biggest but has plenty of great things to look at a ton of interesting history to learn. Staff is knowledgable and gave a great tour.
Great little museum. Recommended for adults. Staff is helpful and knowledgable.
We had a wonderful experience touring the Macarthur Memorial Museum.. The museum is easy to maneuver and brings to life the importance of the era and the importance of MacArthur in shaping our history. The exhibits are beautifully displayed and take the visitor such as myself through history step by step. Everything was very well organized while at the same time being creative. I would recommend this museum to all ages of people. I was especially impressed with the program that they have called "foot locker" where they take foot lockers with artifacts to the various elementary schools in Virginia. This is especially important for schools who cannot afford field trips.
