I love this hospital! My daughter was born at 24 weeks and we were transferred here from another hospital. My daughter had a 12% chance of living. Very critically ill patients. Doctor and Staff are wonderful. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.. After 150 days I was about to bring my baby girl home. Thank You CHKD!!
My son is ALIVE because of this hospital. He has had 13 bowel surgeries and has stayed for 5 months at a time, then two months, then 1 month etc. Do NOT trash talk this hospital because you had to wait 2 hours in the ER because let me tell you, I've had to take my son in the ER and he was seen before everyone who had been waiting. Do you know WHY they do that? Because him having MRSA in his blood from an infected PICC line is more important than a child with a cold. If you want someone to coddle your overreacting mom brain when your child sneezes, this isn't the place for you. If your child is in critical care and about to die and needs immediate specialized care, THIS IS the right hospital. I love CHKD. I trust them completely with my child's life.
The pediatrics office on the first floor is horrible. Every other visit I had a different doc come into evaluate my child, and it's only when the appt was over when his actual pediatrician would Come in and say everything that the "learning docs/students" already said. That said, Dont go to the first floor pediatrics because at the end of the day you will begin to feel your child is like a lab rat that the learning doctors are practicing on...I don't mind honestly but give me warning ahead to time and ask me if it's ok. So now I go to wards corner pdiatrics, best place ever
I was diagnosed with T1D at age 2 and ive had the same doctor there since and im 14!! Best place ever!
Cardiology staff is amazing. We have never been greeted rudely.. totally recommend!
