Arrived 30 before closing time and the door was chained shut. It wasn't overly clear that they where even in business anymore.
This is the "American Pickers" of books in Tidewater. There is a great number and variety of books crammed into a narrow storefront on homemade shelves built to the open ceiling. I imagine that fully half of the books are not on display, but are stacked at the front door and down the southern wall. Always wonder just what is in those stacks? The lack of good organization will discourage some and excite others. Also, there is no heating or cooling except as provided by the weather. I visit every trip to Norfolk to seek a new treasure and am rarely disappointed.
