Nice looking shop with a slightly above average selection of various trading card games, comics and tabletops. Don't go expecting anything less than MSRP. The associates are hit or miss as far as if they're more or less helpful and their tone is welcoming you or secretly saying 'go away'.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. An entire second floor of open play space. Diverse and many events. Organized MTG inventory. Easy Parking across the street.
I have been coming to both locations for quite some time now, and it has only gotten worse. For this location Preston, the assistant manager has been rather helpful when it comes to teaching my son about the game of Magic. He is excited to soon start playing in tournaments. Rudy and Montel have also helped with teaching my son about vanguard. This started when Kira gave him a free deck, a quick explanation and even allowed herself and Rudy to play a round with him. He chats up Montel for the new go to cards. Kelly assist us quite often and has been very helpful with our questions! Thank you for putting up with us! I cannot say the same for the other staff though. The store manager, Anna calls her staff members stupid, says racists remarks only to put them off as jokes, and often complains about having to cover her staff members shifts when something bad has happened to them. Yes, I heard you, and shame on you. Instead of slandering your employees, why not act like you care about their health a little more? If they did a job that wasn’t to your liking, it was because of your incompetence as a manager. Perhaps you should have gotten more training yourself. Another manger that comes to this store every so often, his name is John. He is rather loud. It must be the norm to say racists and sexist remarks to the staff members and customers as I have witnessed him doing it as well. He likes to call himself “the prime species”? Another reason why I particularly do not like this gentlemen is because of how he runs his other store. His relationship with his female staff member is questionable as I am not sure if they are dating or not. I and some other customers have witnessed the two often go to the back room for long periods of time only for them to come out and her hair be messed up. On top of that, I have often seen the two on their phones, or playing some sort of game on their electronic devices while the other staffers do their job. These were just some of the many reasons why I choose to come to the Norfolk location now, even when the Portsmouth store is right down the street. Not really sure how much longer I will be coming to this store, with these kinds of people around. I teach my child to love all people and clearly this establishment isn’t for any child to go to. It is hard for me to understand how the store owner continues to let these staff members be the face of his stores as there are clearly better choices. I hope the other staff members do not have to deal with such things much longer.
I've always enjoyed coming here! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If you are trying to find a game, they will help you narrow down the options and they don't try and pressure you to spend a lot of money
Largest selection tabletop store with a game room on this side of Hampton roads. Very nice employees who are more than willing to answer any questions
