First time experience was a mess, asked for specific work on a bike that was not done. Couldn't find my bike for 10 minutes when I went to pick it up and the tire tube the shop "apparently" replaced (4 days earlier) blew 30 minutes into my ride on the Elizabeth River Trail (all sloped sidewalks and road). When I returned, I asked if someone could take a look at it. I was questioned about my riding ability and questioned/blamed for mulitple, hypothetical causes for the issue (did I put in a work order when it was busy/did I come close to closing time, "no" to all). I will say I appreciated the gentleman for replacing the tube, but he was originally going to charge me again before I explained my frustration.
I bought a new Trek bike a couple of days ago. They have excellent customer service. I will definitely go back for maintenance and additional purchases.
Went in to purchase a road bike because I'm tired of spending so much on gas, and left with an awesome bike. Picked up a Trek 1.2, helmet, jersey, shorts, and 2 lights. The staff is super friendly and very helpful and give you honest advice. Highly recommend East Coast Bicycles for anyone wanting to get into biking of any kind and for current cyclists.

I've ridden a bike around the Ghent area for a few years now, and I have never experienced such condescension. Unfortunately I will not be returning.
The owner is super nice and goes out of his way to help you find what you need. I shopped around and decided to go with East Coast, because they offered the lowest price and their service department was knowledgeable. Steve (the head mechanic) is an expert and will be honest with you. If you are looking for a quality local bike shop in Ghent this is it.
