Revised rating. Read below. Great store to pick up the essentials, and those extras. Love the French baguettes. You won't find a better price in all of Tidewater. Amazing wine selection at affordable prices from all over the world. Always busy, but always clean. The staff is friendly and courteous.
Prices good and clean store but checkout process not great. Goods put down a channel away from the cart lane unpacked on the understanding that you would mysteriously know there was a button to press to start the conveyor belt. Also told lane closed despite people in line but then opened after I had walked past. On site cooked bagette very good though so 3 stars.
I was eager to explore the new store. I have been to Germany so I had some idea how the grocery store might be. I was impressed with the produce quality and pricing. The bakery had delicious looking fresh baked goods but I am on a diet so I drooled at them but didn't purchase . The prices of the packaged breads and bagels was very good. Everything was neat, clean and orderly. Remember this is a German store so you will bag your own groceries and if you don't own any reusable bags they have bags for ten cents and more sturdy bags for ninety nine cents.
It's been three weeks since I posted this review. In my previous review, I gave five stars, and that review was a five star review. Now, after three weeks of shopping experience, I am revising my rating to two stars based on one extremely important factor, the parking lot.
I absolutely love Lidl's. It is the best store I've shopped in because it's not just a grocery store. I find great prices on the food and great prices on the products that are sold in the middle of store. The employees have all been very kind and they actually speak to you and ask "how are you doing, did you find everything that you are looking for"?, and they smile!!!! Keep up the good work!
Lidl Norfolk sits on Military Highway. Its parking lot has only one exit lane. If someone is turning left, and more than likely it will be a group of people turning left, during rush hour, the line of cars leaving the parking lot backs up. This is more than just an inconvenience. It has to change.
Great new grocery store in Norfolk! European brands and lots of organic products. Check out the website or download the app to clip coupons to add more savings. Bring your own bags or buy a few for a few cents each. You have to bag your on groceries, but it's worth it because you know how you want your stuff bagged anyway. Excellent bakery, great wine selection and the wine prices are a great value. My new go to store!
